Traumatic Levitations
Through my work I have been always commenting on human civilizational growth and its intrinsic follies consisting of aggression and ideological indoctrinations, violently inflicted upon human beings in the name of territorial growth.
Thus in this work, a donkey is facilitated by the weight that it carries on its back. I have depicted the donkey going up in air while still harness to a cart that carries wounded tools. The levitation of donkey happens due to the weight of its own burden. This burden, the beast does not know what exactly is it carrying on its back or cart. It carries the weapons of its own destruction. Here the donkey is a symbolical representation of humanity that carries the wounded tools, a hand making of its own and in turn levitates to a precarious position and remains there in a limbo. My intention is to capture the trauma of human kind. For me it is an ironic statement, something comical verging into pathos.”
